Local town pub renowned for home-cooked food. Accredited for beer quality 2024 Popular and friendly pub serving lunchtime meals, not far from both the main line and Severn Valley Railway stations, a short walk up the hill over the railway bridge and into the first side street on the right. Two rooms are served from a central bar, and there is a large beer garden at the rear with bench tables and two shelters, one with a TV. Two regular beers from Wye Valley and one from Ludlow are supplemented with a changing ale from regional or local breweries. It has a reputation for excellent home-cooked food available during the day, sourced from local suppliers, and traditional roast dinner on Sundays. Quiz night is on the first Thursday and there is also a resident football team. It has won local CAMRA awards for its friendly community atmosphere.
